    🍎 Prepare Your Teaching Sample

Each applicant must record a 5-minute teaching sample based on one of the learning objectives (provided below) on Hireflix by October 16. Use the videos and steps below to prepare. MTR is a teacher training program, so we aren't expecting you to be an expert teacher yet! Please try your best and don't stress!

    1. Select a Learning Objective
Choose one objective for the content area and grade level you are applying for.

      ELEMENTARY MATH | ELEMENTARY ELA
      SECONDARY MATH | SECONDARY SCIENCE
      SECONDARY HISTORY | SECONDARY ENGLISH
      K-12 ESL

    2. Create Your Lesson Plan
Use this lesson plan template to write your plan. The template is "view only", so you will need to make a copy of it to type into. When you're finished, save it as a PDF with your name and upload it in the next step.

    3. Gather Materials. You will need:

      - A computer with a camera
      - A whiteboard, chalkboard, or other writing surface
      - Any lesson materials you plan to use

    4. Practice
Rehearse your lesson in front of friends, family, or a mirror. You only get two takes!

Reminder: Act like you are teaching a group of students. See Sample Lesson above for ideas.

  • 1. Submit your completed lesson plan here.

    2. Record your teaching sample here.
*Note - You must record it live on the Hireflix platform. You get two takes. Please make sure you have a strong internet connection, and rehearse your lesson before recording.

🗓️ Submit both your lesson plan and recorded sample by 11:59pm on October 16.
