Praxis Process

1. Meet with Praxis Advisor
Schedule a meeting with Chelsea, our Praxis advisor, using this link for your assigned week.

2. Take Practice Test in 240 Tutoring
Chelsea will share a 240 Tutoring account during your meeting. Log in and take the practice exam for your content (see below for your content exam code).

3. Prepare & Study
Follow your personalized study plan given to you by Chelsea.

4. Register for Praxis
After meeting with Chelsea, register for your Praxis (see below). Make sure to send your official scores to Lipscomb & TNDOE!
Based on your family’s size and income, you may be eligible for a fee waiver. It is up to you to determine if you qualify.

5. Report Scores
Send your unofficial scores to testscores@memphistr.org when you receive them.

What is the Praxis?
The Praxis is a content knowledge exam used for teacher licensure. MTR requires that all residents pass their content knowledge Praxis exam prior to beginning the residency. We are here to support you! Please make sure to review the Praxis Process and information below carefully.
How do I register?
Click here to sign up to take the Praxis Test. See below to find the Test Code that you’ll need to take.
Official Praxis Subject Assessment score reports must be sent to the following two institutions:
Lipscomb University (Code 1161)
TN Department of Education (Code 8190)
Applicants who pass the Praxis will be required to forward a copy of the official student score report to MTR after receiving an invitation to join the program. Applicants should keep their original official score reports for future reference.
