Recruiters travel to 30+ schools every year to get the next best teachers.

We need great teachers in Memphis, which means we need to tell college students about MTR. Our recruiting team travels to over 30 schools and organizations every year to get the best of the best here in Memphis for our students. Traveling to recruit can get expensive – cover the cost for a recruiter to speak at an organization or university to invite others to join in the good work of MTR.

$250 one-time: 1 recruiter’s travel fees
$25/month: Send recruiters year-round

Sponsor a Memphis student for STEM or Literacy Camp.

Summer can be when kids lose the learning they worked so hard for. MTR’s Literacy & STEM Camps exist to reduce that “summer slide” and provide a fun and safe environment for over 200 elementary & middle schoolers in June. Give a Memphis child the gift of discovery: send them to hands-on Literacy or STEM Camp.

$100 one-time: Sponsor 1 camper
$100/month: Sponsor 12 campers, spread across the year

Give a future teacher the gift of rest, renewal, and community.

Residency year is an incredibly challenging 12 months for our teachers. Spending a weekend “off the grid” with their peers and MTR Staff is one of the highlights of every resident’s year. Support an inspiring Victory Ranch weekend where our residents reflect, recharge, and celebrate together before launching their teaching careers.

$87 one-time: 1 retreat day for 1 resident
$290/month: 1 retreat day for the whole residency class, spread across the year

Provide a teacher in MTR’s literacy partner schools hands-on, effective coaching.

Many teachers want excellent coaching throughout the year, but it is hard to find and fit into a busy schedule. MTR partners with two charter networks to provide hands-on, in-the-moment coaching to ALL literacy teachers in the school. Students need highly trained teachers — give the gift of literacy coaching to teachers who are making real changes to their instruction, and changing their students’ lives.

$35 one-time: 1 hour of literacy coaching
$112/month: 1 week of coaching, spread across the year

Give a teacher 24/7 access to a free and functional copy machine.

Did you know many teachers don’t have access to a working copy machine? This is a huge stressor when trying to print resources for their students. MTR provides access to two free, high-speed copy machines for all residents, grads & alums, 24/7. Fund free copying for MTR teachers—a small gift that makes a big difference every single day.

$589 one-time: 1 copier for 1 month
$49/month: 1 copier for 1 month, spread across the year

Bring in a college student to inspire young Memphis youth.

Many college students want to make a difference in education, but don’t know where to begin. MTR hosts Summer Camp Fellows as they build community, mentor Memphis students, and learn research-based teaching practices. Fund a college fellow who'll spark curiosity, build confidence, and create unforgettable summer memories for Memphis kids.

$1,500 one-time: 1 fellow’s summer pay
$125/month: 1 fellow’s summer pay, spread across the year

Help cover the materials fees for a local teacher receive their TN Teaching License.

There are over 1,000 teachers in MSCS working on temporary licenses. If these teachers do not get credits and pass license exams within three years, they need to leave their jobs. MTR partners with Lipscomb University to offer an affordable pathway for these teachers to learn in the evenings (while still teaching!) and receive coaching and licensing test prep in order to get their TN Teaching License. Your gift to help license teachers is a gift for the teachers, their schools, and their students.

$450 one-time: Licensure cohort’s study materials for 1 month (25 teachers)
$18/month: 1 teacher’s study materials, spread across the year
