Here’s how to get ready.

  • SIGN UP HERE.

    Select the subject area you’re applying to teach, then choose an available time for your 60-minute interview, where you’ll meet with a small panel.

    After confirming your interview, you’ll be redirected to sign up for a 40-minute time slot to complete your writing task. The writing task will be completed in a group setting, but you’ll respond to the prompt individually.

    Both the interview and the writing task will take place on the same day.

  • Your Selection Days will take place on Thursday and Friday.

    Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4:00-5:45 CST | All applicants will log in and learn about MTR, meet various staff members, and have the chance to ask questions. Mark your calendar and please find a quiet location with reliable wifi. Attire is professional.

    Friday, September 5, 2025 | Your schedule this day is dependent on what time you signed up for your interview and writing sample in Step 1. Ensure you have the correct time zone. Please mark your calendar accordingly and find a quiet location with reliable wifi. Attire is professional.

    🍎 Prepare Your Teaching Sample

    1. Select a Learning Objective
      Choose one objective for the content area and grade level you are applying for.

      K-12 ESL

    2. Create Your Lesson Plan
      Use this lesson plan template and provided resources to write your plan.

    3. Gather Materials. You will need:

      - A computer with a camera
      - A whiteboard, chalkboard, or other writing surface
      - Any lesson materials you plan to use

    4. Practice
      Rehearse your lesson in front of friends, family, or a mirror.

    Reminder: Act like you are teaching a group of students. See Sample Lesson above for ideas.
