Tonight, Class of 2021 had their “Big Reveal” Tonight, Class of 2021 had their “Big Reveal” and attended a screening where they got to see their composite pictures for the first time! We tipped off the night with a Cinco de Mayo inspired #happyhour and enjoyed some great eats. 🌮  We love coming together for #mtrcommunity events! 🙌

Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek! Today, we are feat Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek! Today, we are featuring our Class of 2022 resident, Lucy Newbold, a transplant from Chattanooga, TN! Prior to joining MTR, she was completing her bachelor's degree in Communications from @bayloruniversity. Ms. Newbold currently teaches 6th grade English Language Arts.  Ms. Newbold mentioned, "My sixth graders are already the reason that showing up to school each day is a joyful experience and I can't wait to continue watching them grow this year. I am most excited for the opportunity to communicate to students the value that they inherently hold and the potential that they each have. Meet Jenny Gautier! An 8th grade resident teacher Meet Jenny Gautier! An 8th grade resident teacher who currently teaches English Language Arts.  Jenny joins us in Memphis as a transplant from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2020. Her teaching journey began in 2021, teaching 7th grade reading, and she relocated to Memphis directly afterwards!  We asked her what she is most excited about and she shared, "I'm most excited to see how school systems operate and how children are in a whole new state. Christian love expressed in equal education.
As a response to the gospel mandate to love our neighbors as ourselves, MTR will partner to provide students in Memphis neighborhoods with the same, or better, quality of education as is available to any student in Memphis by recruiting, training and supporting effective teachers within a Christian context.
